the practice

what is qi gong?

qi gong is a moving meditation used to activate, circulate and cultivate the life force energy (qi) that resides within and around us all.

through gentle movement, breath, awareness and intention, qi gong brings us into a deeper relationship with our bodies and ourselves.

the practice can be both grounding and energizing — an opportunity to slow down, release tension, quiet the mind and reconnect with the natural flow of life.

qi gong welcomes all bodies and levels of fitness. no experience is needed. we simply begin where we are and allow the practice to meet us there.

meet your teacher

hi, i'm alex.

i’ve been practising qi gong for four years and sharing the practice with others for the past two.

i first came to qi gong through a suggestion from my partner, as something we could explore and enjoy together. what began simply as a shared practice quickly became something much deeper. i was drawn to the profound and immediate effects qi gong had on my nervous system, my sense of well-being, and my connection to the formless.

my path to becoming a teacher was somewhat unexpected. i initially undertook holden qi gong teacher training simply to deepen my own understanding of the practice. as part of the training, i began practice teaching — and discovered how much i enjoyed sharing qi gong with others.

today, qi gong is part of my daily life and i prefer to think of what i do as sharing qi gong rather than teaching it. my hope is simply to offer a welcoming space where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and experience the practice in their own way.
